Dr. Susan E. Neil, M.D.
Dr. Neil is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She is also a Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. She graduated from the College of Charleston and the Medical University of South Carolina, then completed residency at the University of Kentucky in 1990.
She studied aesthetic and laser medicine with international experts at numerous meetings and workshops and had advanced training in the use of BOTOX and fillers. Dr. Neil has been doing treatments with fillers and Botox for over 16 years, including Radiesse, Sculptra, Restylane, and Juvederm. She is also certified in hand rejuvenation with Radiesse. She also continues to pursue interests in preventive medicine and healthy aging
Dr. Neil was among the first physicians in the US to use Thermage®, a unique non-surgical procedure for firming and contouring skin and reducing wrinkles. It can be performed on the eyelids and body as well as the face. Since its introduction in 2002, over 1 million treatments have been performed worldwide. Dr. Neil offers patients the benefits of a specialized Thermage device for treating the body, for faster treatment of loose skin on the arms, abdomen or thighs, as well as improving the appearance of cellulite, usually in one treatment, although with more skin laxity a six-month follow-up treatment may be advised.
In addition to treating cosmetic concerns, Dr. Neil continues to enjoy practicing medicine, with interests in cardiovascular risk reduction, healthy aging, hormone replacement, skin cancer risk reduction, and migraine. Outside of the office she enjoys cooking, tennis, exercise, and her dogs and cats.
Cathy Sims, LPN, Certified Laser Technician, Clinical Director
Cathy Sims has worked with Dr. Neil since 1997 in all aspects of patient care. She is a member of the ASCMS and has attended their national conference. She has completed Palomar training courses in the use of multiple lasers, including IPL, 1064 Nd-Yag, 1540 Fractional Erbium, and Q-switched Yag. She has also attended numerous workshops and training sessions by Thermage. She has trained with Jan Marini in skincare science and has expertise in corrective make-up application with Jane Iredale Minerals and Glo Minerals. She enjoys gardening and playing with her dogs and grandchildren.
Lisa Stiff, Office Manager
Lisa Stiff is a member of the MGMA Medical Management Association, former board member for Baby Health Services, former board member, fundraising chair and past Parent's Club president at Sayre School. She has worked with Dr. Neil since 2005. She is an alum of the University of Tennessee, majoring in music education. During the years that her children were growing up, she was a substitute teacher for lower, middle and upper schools. Lisa is an active advocate for animal foster and adoption programs in Lexington and surrounding areas. She has fostered and mentored many dogs and has adopted two pups that have become a permanent part of her family.
